The Town of Huron Waterfront Revitalization Area includes the water surface and adjoining land along Sodus Bay and Port Bay, East Bay, and Lake Ontario. Land areas include waterfront residential neighborhoods, protected natural areas as well as waterfront businesses. The Local Waterfront Revitalization Plan is intended to support and enhance each of these uses and to maintain an appropriate balance among them.
The Town of Huron Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP)
This program is intended to protect and improve the waterfront areas in the Town.
The LWRP aims to balance the interests of natural resource protection, residential neighborhoods and waterfront and tourism-oriented businesses along Sodus Bay, East Bay, Port Bay and Lake Ontario. It recommends programs, projects, policies, and regulations to protect water quality and natural features, enhance public enjoyment and promote appropriate uses of the Town’s waters and adjoining waterfront areas.
The Program will guide local actions and integrate local, State and Federal policies. State and/or Federal grant funding may be available for the Town to implement those projects and programs that are recommended in the LWRP.
